Which legislative committees do you most want to be on?Agriculture Committee, Appropriations, EducationRevenue, and Banking, Finance, and Commerce
Candidate StatementI am concerned about state school funding, fairness of property taxes, and how the needs of low income, mentally challenged, and mentally ill people are being met in this state. I want to serve my fellow Nebraskans and bring accountability to how our great state is funded.I seek this office because public service is an important calling that demands responsive, bold representation. For me, service in the Legislature means giving Gage and southern Lancaster County residents a strong voice in their state government. It's a big job, and I intend to meet the new challenges of committed leadership with the utmost of my abilities.

I will do everything I can to lead this state into government reform. Our state spending has been averaging over 7% annual increases for almost the last 20 years. We can no longer sustain this rapid growth. More and more of our young and retirees are leaving this state. They tell me they can no longer afford to live here. How unfortunate this is where Nebraskans can no longer afford Nebraska. In order to have true and lasting tax relief we must reform government.

I will also work to strengthen our communities. In too many parts of Nebraska our small towns are dying. This trend must be stopped. I believe the best way to do this is to create higher paying jobs throughout the state. I will support regionalized economic development efforts so mid sized and smaller communities will benefit. We must give our young people a reason to stay, and better jobs will be the answer.

Education must be a top priority for our state. The stronger our schools the better our future will be. We will have better educated workers and stronger leaders. Our schools are an investment into our future.

I look forward to serving those in Gage and Southern Lancaster County as the next state senator from District 30.
