Other info | Jeanne Combs | Russ Karpisek |
| Which legislative committees do you most want to be on? | I already serve on Business and Labor, Urban Affairs, and Judiciary and am happy with these assignments. I am Vice Chair of B&L and will be running for Chair next Session - so far I am not aware of any opponent for this position, and I plan to continue with review of Workers' Compensation provisions. | |
| Candidate Statement | I have enjoyed serving our district even though it has required much more time and effort than I ever dreamed that it could. Done right, this job is really a full-time commitment with everything that is involved, to be sure you are properly representing your people and are aware of and using their ideas. I do listen up to the last minute on most issues, since situations continue to unfold even after I am leaning one way or another; I tell my constituents that we will always agree on much more than we disagree on!
I do believe that the Amendment One should be supported, as even a small increase in the annual salary will help offset more of the expenses that you have to incur, and will also help make it possible for more "everyday working people" like myself to represent our citizens. I look forward to continuing work on legislation in progress, including the major revision this year in homestead exemption property valuation and improving work comp and unemployment insurance programs. | |
