The death penalty may have a very small effect on preventing crime, but I feel it has only been used in the most extreme cases where that individual should never be allowed to prey on the public again. In those cases there are no repeat offenders.

The death penalty should discourage crime; however, data indicates otherwise.

If scientific evidence shows that there are no alternatives and this would be the best choice, then depending on the specific legislation I may support this.

Yes This is a difficult issue to enforce. Local businesses must collect the tax so this puts them at a distinct disadvantage to internet sales.

They should be taxed the same as cell phone and wire line calls are taxed.

In general I do not support lids. They have done little to hold down spending. People need to hold there local boards accountable. However if my constituents want lids to remain in place, I would follow their wishes.

I do support the lids on proerty tax; however, local governments need to help just meeting the needs being placed upon them by the very citizens that they serve.

Yes More needs to be done to hold down spending in this area. I believe that with stricter guidelines, and more effort to limit fraud and waste, spending can be brought under control.

I believe that a more efficient government can hold down taxes while keeping those services that government must offer. Some programs need to be reduced because our taxes are high enough.

It not as easy as just raising taxes or reducing services. I would rather cut back on services if it can be done in a reasonable and judicious way.

I don't feel that at this time there is a test that would fairly measure teachers in there ability to teach. Some standards need to be set but maybe the NSEA along with local school board input could come up with something that would be fair.

I don't think that this is possible. Costs vary accross the state and one set amount does not fit all school districts the same.

Yes, but only in the sense that the state needs to look at cost per student as one criterion in evaluating state aid; however, cost per student should not be the driving force behind educational decisions and there are going to be cost differences as long as there are different schools.

Consolidation should be a local decision.

Again this should be left up to the local districts to provide what is needed in their school.

If they are a cost effective and safe solution for power generation then yes.

At this point I feel that there is to much regulation on the small operations and don't think they need any more controls. Larger operations need to be looked at but at this time I feel that current regulations are more than adequate.

Depends on legislation. At this time I don't think that this is a wise use of tax dollars but am open to suggestions.

If prices stay at this level for ethanol, I don't think incentives are needed.

Yes Hopefully this would lower insurance costs for both doctors and patients, and in return lower medical costs for everyone.

Yes This issue needs to be addressed at the national level.

Only if the lawsuit was determined to be frivolous. In some cases legislation like this would stop a legitimate lawsuit because the limited resources of the person or business that files the suit could cause that person or business significant financial harm if they would by chance lose the case.
